How did you get interested in your skill?
I chose nursing because I have the passion to help and care for people especially children. After my first clinical , I felt that nursing is the career that I would want to pursue.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
I am currently a year 2 nursing student at Nanyang Polytechnic. The training of the skills was done in school.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
I was selected by the coaches to compete in WorldSkills Singapore 2014 competition.
I won the Gold Award and will represent Singapore in the WorldSkills Competition 2015 in Brazil.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My teachers.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
It was a great experience. The coaches shared a lot of their experience and knowledge with me. I had the chance to learn things more in-depth.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
At the end of the competition my coaches and I shared our feelings about the months of preparation and training and we were very emotional.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills.
It was interesting and stressful at the same time. It was interesting because I had the opportunity to learn new knowledge and skills earlier than other students in my cohort. It was really stressful because I have never been to any competition and I was not sure what to expect.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in
your skill? Please describe.
Yes. I am more aware of the importance of patient centered and holistic care.
I learned to work thing out differently without compromising the principles of care.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
Iam a year 2 nursing student.

What are your future career aspirations?
I planned to pursue a nursing degree and to specialize in Pediatric nursing.
