How did you get interested in your skill?
Thanks to the family business, I had contact with every professions of the automobile technology. I hesitated between car bodywork and mechanics. I did internships in which I discovered my passion for mechanics and the diagnostic.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
My first year of training was in a large company and the second in the family business.
And there’s also the training in the center ZAWM automotive section in Eupen.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
By the coordinator of the automotive section at ZAWM Eupen: Mr Gino Decoster.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My parents and mister Decoster.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
Participating in a competition is different from the usual work. First of all because the tests are made on vehicles of different brands and then because it's more stressful.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
The week-end at “Le Val d’Arimont” with the whole Belgian team and the skillsbelgium team was huge.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
Many people come up to me after the publications in the press. They are impressed with what is done in technical jobs and show much interest for these professions, the professional training and the competition.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, by more intensive training as part of the preparation for the competition.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I continue my training in alternation in the company Xclusive Cars and at the school ZAWM.

What are your future career aspirations?
First, complete the two ongoing training as mechatronics engineer in automotive mechanics and as diagnostician specialist.
Next year, participate in an internship in Germany, allowing the recognition of Belgian diploma in Germany (Bi-Diplom).
Then after doing my business, I would complete my training by a year of study in Automotive Management.
