How did you get interested in your skill?
I come from a ‘foody’ family, my mother was a chef, so I have always been surrounded by good food. I loved the atmosphere of restaurants and the buzz it gave me on a busy Saturday night.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
I trained at Brockenhurst College.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
I competed in the Wessex Salon Culinaire Competition at College where I won Gold. Following this, WorldSkills UK invited me to compete for a place in Squad then Team UK for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My family always supported me and my College lecturers showed me how far I could go in my chosen career.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
As part of Squad and Team UK I have completed a varied training programme which has been great fun. I train with my Training Manager Katie Kyrousis who works at Gleneagles and I have also been to different restaurants and bars to learn different ways of doing things.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
Getting into Team UK and competing at EuroSkills Lille 2014.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress in your skill? Please describe.
It certainly has. Training for the Competition has helped my skills and knowledge and my profile has grown in the industry which will help widen my future horizon.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I work at Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa.

What are your future career aspirations?
I want to be the best I can be and pass on my knowledge to other trainees.
