Competitor in Skill: Plumbing and Heating
Country: Germany

How did you get interested in your skill?
I was a visitor of WorldSkills Leipzig 2013. There I saw the skill for the first time.

Where did you do your training for your skill?
My training will be held in Germany in Schweinfurt. In Schweinfurt we have a special
training center for heating and plumbing.

How did you first find out about your Member organization and its programs?
Our team organization I've met in March at our first team meeting.

Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
My former trainer has suggested me for our team selection. That was the reason for my
participation.

What is your experience in participating with your Member organization?
At our first preparatory meeting I gained some experience with our Member
organization. Our organization had a Brazilian evening there. In addition, we were given
the opportunity to get to know each other.

Describe your most memorable moment so far with WorldSkills?
The best moment with WorldSkills was qualifying for the competition in Brazil. The
qualification took place at an exhibition in front of an audience which was a little
WorldSkills feeling. That was very nice and emotional for me.

Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with WorldSkills
Previously, it was very nice and interesting to be able to take part in this huge
WorldSkills project. It is great fun for me to compete with others on a professional level.

Did participating in the skills competitions and training for WorldSkills help you progress
in your skill? Please describe.
Yes, the training for WorldSkills also helps me to work. Since that I work much more
accurate and of course I will be much faster at work.

What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I work in a normal company, at which I have also completed my apprenticeship. I mainly
work in customer service.

What are your future career aspirations?
After WorldSkills I either do my master or study.
