Karine was inspired to enter Confectioner/Pastry Cook as a child watching her mother at work. “My mother was a baker…she passed her skills and love of the discipline to me,” says Ouellet. “I took some classes when I was young and was instantly bumped up to courses for kids five years my senior because I learned so quickly…this made me realize this job was for me.” Ouellet studied pastries at the École Hotêliere de la Capitale. She currently works at the Château Laurier. “For me, landing where I am now is what I dreamed about…I want to continue at the Château Laurier
to hone my skills.”
